Our Story

We are Daniel and Brittni. We are ready to start our family!! We did not know what was in our future when we said our I Do's.... Little did we know that God had big plans for us to adopt from Ethiopia and/or Foster/Adopt through DHS. This all began with a simple prayer of, "God what do you want me to do with my life to honor you???" Our pastor had been preaching about having a purpose, and wanted us to search out what the answer to that question was. The more and more that I pursued an answer to this question I kept coming back to adoption. I went to Daniel, which he already knew my desires of wanting to adopt - but we had never officially started the process or even began discussing it seriously. And we began to pray.... Through those prayers God confirmed it in both our hearts to begin the adoption process to Internationally adopt from Ethiopia. We always knew we wanted to adopt from DHS as well, but had been hesitant due to the county we lived in and the reputation that the DHS office there had. Plus we knew if we did International Adoption we would have to fundraiser as well as travel to Ethiopia and we felt doing that while we had no children would be the easiest route. SO we began the  process February 2012 to adopt from Ethiopia. As we continued to wait, the referral wait times continued to increase. And while we were waiting, we were blessed with becoming friends with a family in our church that are foster parents. We fell in love with some children in their care and began pursuing to adopt them while we waited on Ethiopia. We later found out that we would not be able to adopt these children, but decided to continue on in the process with fostering/adopting from DHS. We are still getting all approved steps to begin to adopt through DHS, but ask that you continue to pray for us that God will work everything out and bring the kids he wants in our home soon.
